Furniture: Benches
There are plenty of different uses for benches around the home. Whether its inside or outside, youre sure to have a spot that could benefit from a nice looking bench. Not only are they great for when company comes over, but they look good as well.
A nice hand-crafted bench in your living room can greatly enhance the look of the whole room. If you have lots of wooden furniture in the room, a beautiful wooden bench can tie the whole room together like nothing else. Best of all, benches offer seating space and arent simply a decoration.
Outdoor Benches
Benches arent simply meant to be used indoors, though. Theres a reason parks and walkways have benches and not seats or chairs; a high quality bench is the perfect way to offer comfortable outdoor seating. Weather-resistant and durable, you dont have to worry about a bench breaking in a high wind, or being destroyed by vandals. If youve got a nice backyard or terrace, you could benefit greatly from a nice bench.
Benches used in the outdoors should usually be made from iron. You may want the actual seat of the bench to be made from wood, but the frame should definitely be made from either concrete or iron. This means that even if the wood eventually rots and needs to be replaced, you still have the majority of the bench intact and in great shape. Youd be surprised at how much a simple bench can improve the look of your yard.
